GREATER BUFORD ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION COACHES RULES
 

Home Team: The home team shall be responsible for getting the field ready to play.
If, last game of the day, home team will turn off the lights at the field. Failure to turn off lights will
result in a $25.00 fine. The head coach will be suspended until fine is paid.

Visiting Team: The visiting team shall be responsible for obtaining the score box from the concession
stand and getting a responsible adult (this will be enforced) to keep the score in the press box.
If, last game of the day, the visiting team will return the score box to the concession stand. Failure to
return score box will result in a $25.00 fine.  The loss of the score box will result in the suspension
of the responsible coach until it is replaced by said coach at his or her expense.  The head coach will be
suspended until fine is paid.  If concession stand is closed, please put score box in the equipment room.

 

  • All managers and coaches are responsible for removing trash from their dugout after each game.
  • All coaches are responsible for keeping their equipment in safe working order.
  • No cell phones on the playing field.
  • No tobacco products on the playing field.
  • There will be no alcoholic beverages at any team function on or off GBAA premises by any coach.
    Breaking this rule will be grounds for immediate termination of all coaching privileges.
  • No glass containers are allowed in the dugout or playing area.
  • No games will be swapped unless the commissioner and the head umpire are notified a week in advance and both agree to swap.
  • No adult, coach, or person acting in a coaching role will use foul language, berate or badger a child
    during a game or on GBAA premises. This is grounds for ejection by the umpire or a board member.  If any coach, assistant coach or anyone acting in a coaching role is ejected from a game, they will be
    suspended for the next game. The second ejection of the same person will result in a suspension for the
    remainder of the season.  A suspended coach is not allowed on the field, in the stands or near the field during the suspension.

There will be a $10.00 fee to file a protest. If the coach’s protest is upheld, the money will be returned.
If he/she is ruled against, the money will go into the association funds. Please see G.B.A.A. handbook
for more information on filing a protest.

A regular season game can end in a tie if the game remains tied after one additional inning.

No practice will continue after 9:00PM. All lights will be turned off by 9:00PM daily.  GBAA equipment
will only be used during regularly scheduled field or batting practices.  This equipment is pitching machines,
lights, etc. Regular scheduled practices are usually between 5:00 and 9:00PM Monday through Friday.
Saturday will be from 9:00AM to 9:00PM. Sunday is NOT considered a regular practice day. Any coach
choosing to practice outside of these times may do so without GBAA quipment. Any coach violating this
rule will be given a one game suspension. If this rule contradicts GGBL/GYSA rules then GGBL/GYSA rules
will govern.

 

No games or practices shall take place when the wind chill is below 40 degrees. Head coaches will be suspended
for 1 game for failure to comply with this rule.  www.weather.com will be used as a standard for checking temperature/windchill.
If this rule contradicts GGBL/GYSA rules then GGBL/GYSA rules will govern.

Failure to abide by these rules will result in disciplinary action (which may include suspension and or fines) by the board.
